Friday Brain Building Club at Bath Children’s Literature Festival
There’s something very exciting happening close to home this September — and Friday Brain Building Club is delighted to be a small part of it.
The Bath Children’s Literature Festival brings together children, families, authors and illustrators for a celebration of books, stories and reading. As a local Wiltshire business, with Bath right on our doorstep, it feels particularly special for FBBC to be involved.
We’ll be joining the festival fun at Party at the Museum, the opening event at the Holburne Museum on Friday 25 September, from 5–8pm.
And we’re bringing plenty of brain building with us!
500 free FBBC sheets
As part of the event, we’ll be giving away 500 Friday Brain Building Club activity sheets completely free to children and families.
Each FBBC sheet is designed for children aged 7–11 and combines literacy, numeracy, verbal reasoning, logic and problem-solving. The activities are designed to get children thinking, making connections and building confidence — while still feeling fun rather than like extra homework.
For families who haven't come across FBBC before, it will be a chance to take a sheet home, give it a try and see what brain building is all about.
Come and say hello
We’ll also have a small FBBC presence at the Holburne Museum during the evening, so look out for our banner and come and say hello.
There’ll be the chance to find out a little more about FBBC and hopefully try your hand at a few brain-building challenges while you’re there — perfect for children (and grown-ups!) who fancy putting their thinking skills to the test.
One of the things I love most about FBBC is watching children get stuck into a problem, puzzle over it and then have that brilliant “I’ve got it!” moment. I’m really looking forward to seeing some of those moments happening in person.
Celebrating literacy, curiosity and learning
Being involved with the Bath Children’s Literature Festival feels like a particularly natural fit for FBBC.
Literacy sits at the heart of so much of what we do. Every weekly sheet gives children opportunities to explore words and language alongside numeracy, logic and problem-solving — from discovering a new Word of the Week to cracking codes, solving riddles and spotting relationships between words.
More broadly, FBBC is about curiosity: encouraging children to think, question, make connections and enjoy learning something new.
It’s also why supporting literacy beyond our subscriber community matters to us. Alongside giving away sheets at events like this, FBBC supports the National Literacy Trust through its In Aid Of programme, helping our growing little business contribute to improving literacy opportunities for children more widely.
A local festival devoted to inspiring children through books, stories and ideas feels like a rather wonderful place to celebrate all of that.
